Transgender Awareness Training for UHNM Staff

At Project 93, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and seen — especially in healthcare settings. In partnership with University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM), we’ve developed two free online training courses designed to strengthen understanding and support for transgender people across the organisation.

These self-guided modules were created following feedback from UHNM staff and are funded by the Community Health Champions initiative. They aim to build confidence, challenge misconceptions, and promote best practice in working with trans and non-binary individuals.

Whether you’re short on time or want a deeper dive, there’s a course to suit you:

• Transgender Inclusivity: Core Principles (30 minutes): A quick but powerful overview of key terminology, respectful language, and the barriers faced by trans people in healthcare.

• Creating Inclusive Spaces: A Intro to Transgender Inclusion (2 hours): A more detailed exploration, including real-world scenarios, practical guidance, and reflection exercises.

Both courses are tailored for staff at all levels and are open to anyone within UHNM. On completion, you’ll receive a certificate to recognise your learning.
